Uses

Features

The BlueMind professional offering brings you specific solutions and tools, specifically:

Simple accounts

The BlueMind subscription enables you to create "simple" accounts, i.e. accounts with minimum features – mail and contacts.

These accounts are set up through user roles. Roles can be assigned individually, but for increased safety, BlueMind recommends that you use a dedicated group:

  • Create a group, e.g. named "simple-accounts"
  • Enable the boxes "Hide BlueMind address lists" in order to hide that group in the directory
  • Go to the group's administration page:
    • Mail: select "No mail" which means that this group does not have a mailbox
    • Archiving: do not enable anything
    • Roles: this is where the items users have access to are set. Select the following only:
      • Mail and Contacts
      • Modify settings
      • Change password
      • Manage mail filters
      • Manage identities

All you need to do next is add the desired users to this group for them to have the appropriate rights:

  • Create a user and go to their administration card (or go to an existing user's administration card)
  • General tab, "Account information": click the link "Modify group memberships"
  • Remove any groups that may grant higher roles (including the "user" default group)
  • Add the "simple-accounts" group
Remarque

Users can be added to the group through the "Members" tab in the group's administration page, but this doesn't allow you to manage membership to other groups that may grant higher privileges. You therefore need to go to the user's administration card to manage this.
